What is the Importance of Having a Business Coach? 3 Reasons Why a Coach is Important

What is the importance of having a business coach?

Today I am sharing 3 reasons why having a business coach is vital to your business!

A business coach should always be at least one step ahead of you. It’s someone that has been there, done that. Keep in mind that you do not have to stay with the same coach forever, you can outgrow your business coach.

A good business coach wants you to outgrow them.

Why? Because when you hit your goals it shows that their coaching and mentorship works.

So here are my 3 reasons (in order of importance):

  1. Coaches help you increase your profits

At the end of the day it’s all about dollars and cents. If you look at your list of goals, one of them is probably money related and it’s most likely your first goal.

A business coach can help you create strategies to help you make MORE money. Coaches have been in your position and know how to help you move from where you are to where you want to be.

If you want to make more money, you need to get a coach. Plain and simple.

  1. Coaches hold you accountable.

In your business, who holds you accountable to hit your goals? Probably no one.

As entrepreneurs we talk a lot about having an accountability partner, but these relationships don’t always last because there is no skin in the game.

When you invest (spend your coins) in a business coach, you want to get a return (your money’s worth) so you will do what you have to do to see a return on your investment.

Likewise, a coach is also investing in you by giving you mentorship and tips and tricks of entrepreneurship. As a coach this individual wants you to succeed because you become their word of mouth reference.

Because of this investment, coaching is better than an accountability partner because a coach will put more and give more to you because there is a fair trade and skin in the game for both involved. A coaching-mentee relationship is an accountability partner on steroids.

A coach will tell you all their tips and tricks of the trade. A coach will also hold you accountable and make sure you are staying on track. A business coach will also…

  1. Coaches check you when you are doing wrong.

I did a podcast episode where I spoke about having people around you that will give you feedback and constructive criticism. What I forgot to say is that you need someone on your team that will check you when you are not doing the right thing for your business.

This is where a business coach comes in.

Business coaches can give an UNBIASED opinion on what you are doing in your business.

A coach usually isn’t a friend or relative and because of this they are likely more honest and feel less attached to “hurting your feelings.” Since they are not emotionally connected to you, they will have no problem pointing out where you are weak in your business strategy and execution.

You always want to be associate with someone that is smarter and further along than you. If you are the top person in your circle, you need to get a new circle because you are not growing.
